MERRY CHRISTMAS!
And thought how, as the day had come,The belfries of all Christendom Had rolled alongThe unbroken song Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Till, ringing, singing on its way The world revolved from night to day,A voice, a chime,A chant sublime Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Then from each black, accursed mouthThe cannon thundered in the South, And with the sound The Carols drowned Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And in despair I bowed my head;‘There is no peace on earth,’ I said;‘For hate is strong,And mocks the song Of peace on earth, good-will to men!’
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:‘God is not dead; nor doth he sleep! The Wrong shall fail,The Right prevail,With peace on earth, good-will to men!’

Pink Friday at MMP ~ Coming Up Roses
Roses represent so many wonderful things and are often used to celebrate special milestones such as weddings, births and anniversaries. Roses have also been used throughout the centuries in estate and cottage gardens, home décor and fashion. Milliners used silk roses to embellish the finest hats, while seamstresses stitches the richest brocade drapes adorned with roses. Throughout the years, famous artists have studied and painted every aspect of the rose. Antique lithographs and post cards from the 1800s grace our homes today with their everlasting beauty while roses continue to gracefully fit every lifestyle and décor. If you have a soft spot for roses, won’t you please join us for PINK FRIDAY at Make Mine Pink on Friday October 24th. The boutiques at Make Mine Pink are pleased to present “Coming up Roses.”

My sweet friend 'Angel'
On June 11th, Angel was diagnosed with terminal cancer. They only gave her a few days, but she fought with everything she had and lived another month. I was amazed at how strong and good spirited she was. Her beautiful children and family stood by her side every second. I was so happy to have the chance to visit her many times when she was in the hospital. Angel is the one in the blue and yellow jacket smiling. She had a beautiful smile and a beautiful heart. She was a nurse and cared for many people through her time. She also cared for my father n law when he was sick. She talked with me about what a wonderful man he was. I am so thankful to have known such a wonderful person. We had many memories together as growing up in our teens. Angel, we will miss you and love you always. Thanks for being such a special friend. I will see you someday.

Another Cookie Recipe from BeverlyJean at Shabby Chic Pink Ladybug Designs
Crust:
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup butter softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Filling:
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
3 tablespoons all purpurse flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine 1 1/4 cups flour, butter and sugar in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles course crumbs. Stir in 1/4 cup pecans.
Press crust mixture evenly onto bottom of ungreased 8 or 9-inch square baking pan. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until very light golden brown on edges.
Meanwhile, combine all filling ingredients except pecans in small bowl, mix well. Stir in pecans. Spread evenly over hot, partially baked crust. Bake for 20 - 30 minutes or until filling appears set and knife inserted 1-inch from edge comes out clean. Cool completely, cut into bars.
Yummy!!!! I love this recipe, it's a mini version of "Southern Pecan Pie"...serve with a warm mug of Christmas Hot Chocolate topped with whipped cream sprinkled with nutmeg or cinnamin.....Oh! please add a Santa Candy Cane to stir the christmas Hot Chocolate and add a special peppermint flavor. Enjoy!!

Easy Ways to add Cottage Charm to your Kitchen
Mix New & Old-
Painted shabby white cabinets or wood kitchen table. Add different style chairs found at flea markets and resale shops. Old Transferware dishes compliments everyday dishes. Add color with a bouquet of fresh flowers from the garden in a vintage pitcher.
Use Pattern-
Beautiful floral seat cushions with pretty vintage material pillows. Mix & Match with florals, ginghams, & stripes.
Use Beaded Board-
Very inexpensive panels can be installed on your walls or even ceiling to add a historical charm to your home. Easy to wipe off.
Add Color to Cabinets-
Paint or wallpaper the inside of glass-door cabinets and behind the shelves to show off your china collectibles and glassware.
And of course, Let the Sun Shine in
Natural light adds charm and comfort to any room. Use light and airy window treatments.
Have fun with your kitchen, find vintage accessories to add character. Don't be afraid of colors, I love to mix pastels and crisp colors. Fresh flowers always fills the house with pretty hues and scents.

A Tip to the Vintage Look
Shabby in Pink Tips
I just love the vintage look. I would say that I am a Thrifty Chic. This goes out to all the Thrifty Chics.
How to make the Vintage Look-
Purchase a set of pretty and inexpensive sheet sets. Gently bleach the sets till you have your desired hues. This can work for just about anything from sheets to tablecloths.

All About Me
I am married to a wonderful husband. I have 3 daughters- Hayleigh 13, Samantha 5, & Madison 18 months. I have a wonderful step son Nathan 12. I am a very busy stay at home mom. My daughter Hayleigh has helped me alot with setting up my site. She helps me with ideas.
I am hoping to meet new friends, and build a site that women like to shop in.
In my blog I will post new events, products, sales, special treasures, just about anything that is new in Shabby in Pink Boutique.
