Wow Stephanie, you are so creative! I always see the things you make and think, how does she come up with these ideas!! I love vintage treasures, probably because I love anything that takes me back to my childhood memories of the time when my mother was alive. Vintage items help me feel and relive those warm and wonderful moments creating things with Mama and it's just evokes more peaceful, joy-filled memories.

Hi Stephanie,

Why do I love Vintage? I could go on and on...but I guess it boils down to: I love the story that each item could tell. Who owned them originally, why did they love the item, who gave it to them and under what circumstances! Of course, I love the thrill of the hunt too!
Hugs,
Eileen

I love vintage treasures because they have secrets and history. It's fun to imagine the life that owned the item before you did.

Hi Stephanie,
Very unique wall piece! I like vintage, true vintage that is because of its unique life. Everything has a story to tell, and when you think about a real cool piece it's life as we see it is only in our own thoughts and imagination.

HI Steph, I love vintage too. I love the connection with days gone by when life seemed so much simpler and when people cherished their possessions. When you hold a vintage piece in your hand, you know it was special to someone at some time in the past.

Lovely wall hanging, as usual! I love vintage because I feel like I am saving a little tiny piece of history, it's in my keeping for a short time and hopefully someone after me will find it and feel the link to past generations and take their turn to treasure it for awhile.

Beautiful Stephanie!
I love vintage items for the stories they do tell or the stories I think they might have told. Sometimes it's just fun to imagine where something came from and who might have treasured it before.

Awwwwww Stephie! So very, very pretty, hon! I love your blog! I can't figure this blogger thing out! PS you don't have me on here as a fav, naughty, naughty!

Ok, be good, Net! Vintage is what I grew up in. Mama and Dad collected antiques and we lived in old Victorian homes. I got to be the one to dust these items but they were like old friends. Many of the items were passed down through the family and I have many of those in my home since mama and dad passed. It brings me comfort to sit in my great great grampa's rocker where I rocked my babies, to grind coffee in gramma's coffee grinder, to look at my Depression Era dishes through mama's old china hutch which was their first piece of furniture when they married. My guests get to sleep in the vintage bedroom set that I painted cottage white that belonged to my father's side. In that room is also the maple wardrobe that my great great grandpa made. The oak dining table that sits 18 people around it is from my husband's grandmother. I have an old hoosier that sits by the oak buffet that matches that table. My old secretary desk was given to me as a gift from my sister and an heirloom no one wanted in her family. Again, they comfort me and hearken back to a simpler time in my life. NEVER EVER would I let these items leave the family because they ARE part of my family!

Hi Stephanie, What a great idea. When I look at something that is vintage, I wonder about the people who may have owned before me. What were their lives like? Were they happy? Where did they live? All kinds of things. Usually my vintage items make me happy, and I hope some of my items will become vintage and make someone else happy to have them.

What a lovely give away!!
Why I love vintage is because of all the memories attached to the pieces! i love trying to find out the history behind them if they are family heirlooms. IF I find something someplace else, I try to incorporate it in my "decor"lol. LOVE everything vintage.

Hi Stephanie,
I love your new creation! The reason I love vintage is because it makes me happy. There is so much detail put into vintage pieces. They just don't make them like they used to.

Hi Stephanie....I love your wallhanger! I love vintage because I have a deep unexplained need to preserve things that are no longer faddish, if that makes any sense. I also love the memories invoked by vintage pieces passed down through my family, and wondering about the stories a piece could tell if it is something that belonged to someone else.

Stephanie, Thank you so much for dropping by and asking me to participate. I love vintage because it usually brings back sentimental or fond memories. I like to think about the people who may have used it before me and was it an item of great use when now I use it to be pretty. Usually the quality is so incredible too. Those are just a couple of things.
Have fun dear, xo rachel

What lovely work, you're so talented! I love vintage because I'm an antique -smile-. Our home is 109 years old and filled with "vintage" from the 1914 Acorn cook stove to Great Grandmother's wedding trunks to the Romanian Grandpa's shepherds vest...the list is, virtually, endless. Even my furniture was bought at thrift stores and re-upholstered. New has no soul, no character, no love while vintage antique has a history, it fairly breaths with the hands that have touched it, held it, loved it. Give me old any day but if you give me new, make it hand crafted with love so it will, evventually, be vintage!

You are the cutest! I love your shop and will be back to get a few items!WE both love the samethings! How fun!!!

Why do I love vintage?! Hum. Well I'm 24 and my sister thinks I'm kindda weird that I like "old stuff". It started when I did my sons nursery and was so OVER all the mass produced bedding. I decided I would do something vintage instead. I did a vintage cowboy room and my love for everything vintage began. I guess what draws me to it is its so innocent. The images, the way of life and people got pleasure from the real important and SIMPLE things in life. Kids had fun back than playing and using their imagination ( I love sitting down and hearing my grandpa talk about all his little boy adventures) . Now kids are in front of tv and computers and I think now that I am a mom I long for my kids to really grow up learning about what life is really about. So thats why Im so drawn to vintage. I love waking up super early on Saturday and going treasure hunting alone. Its a time to clear my head and just looking for everyone's things that is no longer any value to them. I love knowing I can take something that use to be so loved and repainting or fixing so that our family can enjoy it. I just love thinking about what happened to the item, who might of had it. So fun! I have some vintage candles I bough and they looked like they were used once. I showed my sister who totally thinks Im crazy because I was so excited about them (they have really cute graphics on them) and she was like...they are old and used. haha

To me just thinking about who must have bowed them out 50 or more years ago makes it so much more special. Even the simplest items have a new life when you go vintage!

Great blog!

I love vintage...it reminds me of simple times...carefree days of childhood, memories of grandmas and relatives no longer with us in this life. It reminds me of days when life seemed so easy going, happy, simple, when WE didn't have a care in the world..
